My Bachelorette Weekend in San Diego

A San Diego Bachelorette Party Itinerary: How I spent my weekend!

San Diego, California is a perfect mix of sunshine, beach vibes, and nightlife energy. When it came time to celebrate me being a bride to be, San Diego turned out to be the perfect beach town for my bachelorette party! From karaoke to drag brunch to beachside cocktails, here’s exactly how we spent our unforgettable weekend in San Diego.

Thursday: Day 1 – Arrival

We all landed in San Diego by 2:30 PM, ready to kick off the weekend. First things first: drinks and snacks! A few of us made a quick grocery store run to stock up our vacation rental with enough snacks and drinks to get us through the weekend.

Mean Girls Night!

Once we settled in, it was time to glam up for our themed night: Mean Girls Night! I came up with the idea during a night out when my friends and I were talking about all the different bachelorette themes we’ve seen. Then it hit me, what’s more iconic than dressing up as characters from Mean Girls?

I love having an excuse to dress up with my friends on a day other than Halloween, and this theme did not disappoint.

If costumes aren’t your thing, no worries! You can still join in the fun. Some other ideas are to wear wigs, sashes, color coordinate, or just go as you are. It’s all about feeling confident and having the best time with your best friends during your special day/weekend!

Dinner, Drinks, & Karaoke!

After reenacting some iconic scenes from the movie, we headed to our reservation at Hideaway in Pacific Beach for dinner and happy hour drinks. The food was great, the cocktails were flowing, and the energy was high, exactly what we needed to kick off the night.

From there, we walked over to 710 Beach Club for Thursday night karaoke, where, dare I say, we crushed it. After singing our hearts out (and losing our voices), we made our way back to the house for some girl time and card games. The perfect, relaxing ending to our first night.

Friday: Beach & Bars

We woke up on Friday feeling great (and maybe a little tired), ready to take the day by storm. There’s something about girls trips, but we all were up and ready to go by 8-9am. We decided to walk to a coffee and breakfast spot, Olive Cafe. It was the perfect spot to fuel up for a day in the sun. The food and coffee were delicious and just what we needed.

Beach Day

Afterward, we soaked up as much California sunshine as we could before the rain rolled in. I couldn’t have asked for more – sand, sun, and good vibes with friends. You know those shirts that look like you’re wearing a bikini? We all had those for the beach, which was so fun and made for hilarious pictures!

Night out in Gaslamp District

After getting glammed up in all things pink, dinner and cocktails kicked things off in the Gaslamp District. We started off the evening with dinner at Las Hadas Mexican Bar and Eatery and happy hour drinks until 7 PM. From there, we hopped between Side Bar, Gaslamplighter, and Whiskey Girl. I loved how walkable this area was, full of other nightlifers, great music you can hear from the streets, and good vibes all around.

The Gaslamp District in San Diego is known as the heart of the city’s nightlife. It is packed with trendy bars, rooftop lounges, live music, and restaurants that stay open long after dark. It’s the kind of place where you can hop from classy cocktails to karaoke to dancing all in one night. This makes it a go-to spot for celebrations like a bachelorette party.

We capped off the night with a spontaneous nighttime beach run, a slightly wild, very memorable time with a few of my girl friends! There is something about running barefoot in the sand with the waves crashing beside you that feels so freeing. It wasn’t planned, it wasn’t glamorous, but it ended up being one of those core memories that we will laugh about for years to come. The perfect mix of chaos and magic to wrap up the night.

Saturday: Drag Brunch & Beach Bar Hopping

Saturday afternoon brought one of the main highlights of the trip (and easily the most entertaining): Drag Brunch at Lips San Diego. Serving up equal parts glitter, comedy, and bottomless mimosas, the queens put on an unforgettable show with over-the-top performances, hilarious audience interaction, and nonstop energy that kept the entire room laughing and cheering. We all walked in with hungry stomaches, dollar bills, and maybe even a slight hangover from the night before, but walked out feeling revived with sore cheeks from smiling so much.

Don’t be afraid to laugh at yourself and joke around with your friends, half of the fun is letting loose. Laughter, mimosas, and show-stopping performances made it an absolute must for any bachelorette celebration!

After the show, we headed back to the coast to go bar hopping along the beach. Starting at Pacific Beach Shore Club, made our way to Lahaina Beach House, and wrapped up the evening with dinner at Flamingo Deck. Ocean sunsets, good music and cocktails – a beach-lover’s dream. Each spot had the kind of effortless coastal energy that makes you forget what time it is, and we found ourselves just soaking up the moment.

Sunday: Farewell, San Diego

As they say, all good things must come to an end. We all joined together for one last walk for coffee at Funky Lemon before heading back to finish packing and check out of the rental house. Those who didn’t have an early flight grabbed one last bite for lunch at Sandbar Sports Bar before heading to the airport. Tired, sun-kissed, and full of memories, we said goodbye to San Diego… until next time.

There’s something special about a trip that brings all your favorite people together in one place… no responsibilities, no timelines, just fun. Looking back, the weekend felt like the perfect blend of laughter, chaos, relaxation, and celebration. It was the kind of trip that makes you grateful for the friendships you have and excited for everything still ahead.

San Diego definitely gave me the best sendoff into this next chapter in my life and relationship, and I couldn’t have imagined a more perfect bachelorette weekend with some of my favorite ladies!

Tips for a San Diego Bachelorette Weekend

  • Plan your accommodations wisely: Book your vacation rental or hotel closest to your top activities for the weekend. We opted to stay on the beach because we planned for a lot of beach time! It was also walkable to several coffee shops and restaurants.
  • Happy hour is your best friend: Many bars offer early deals, perfect for a budget-conscious group.
  • Balance day and night activities: Beach time, brunch, and coffee spots keep the mornings chill before hitting the nightlife.
  • Dress code is a fun touch!: Matching outfits, color schemes, or fun costumes make for great photos and a cohesive vibe. Plus, it helps to ease the packing process.
  • Leave room for spontaneity: Some of the best memories come from unexpected adventures, like our midnight beach run.

I found that San Diego was the perfect mix of chill beach days and lively nights out, making it the perfect backdrop for any bachelorette party. Trust me, you’ll leave with sun-kissed skin, sore cheeks from laughing, and a heart full of memories.
