As the sun sets in Chiang Mai’s Old City, a transformation takes place. Ratchadamnoen Road turns into an exciting evening of sights, sounds, and aromas—the legendary Sunday Night Market. A haven for both travelers and locals, this weekly market is not just a place to shop for souvenirs; it’s an experience that immerses you in the essence of Northern Thailand.

Where to Stay

The market takes place along Ratchadamnoen Rd, extending into the connecting streets. There are many hotels and vacation rentals that you can book right where the Sunday market takes place. We booked an Airbnb right above Kate Pizzeria, right in the middle of all the action! After checking in, we got ready for the evenings events with a view of the vendors getting set up right outside our window.

Note: I suggest grabbing lunch at Terrace Bar & Cuisine Restaurant and ordering the Pad Thai! One of the best meals we had throughout our entire trip!
