Why You’ll Love This Recipe
- Easy dump-and-go crockpot meal
- Only a few pantry staples required
- Rich, creamy, and full of comforting flavor
- Great for meal prep and leftovers
- Family-friendly and perfect for busy weeknights

Ingredients
- 2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 2 cans cream of chicken soup
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 2 teaspoons dried parsley
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
- ¼ teaspoon poultry seasoning

Directions:
How to Make Creamy Crockpot Chicken Noodles
Step 1
Place the chicken breasts in the bottom of your slow cooker.
Step 2
Pour both cans of cream of chicken soup over the chicken. Add the chicken broth, parsley, salt, garlic powder, and poultry seasoning. Place the butter on top.
Step 3
Cover the crockpot and cook:
- Low: 6 hours
- High: 4 hours
I have made it both ways and honestly can’t tell much of a difference, so use whichever works best for your schedule.
Step 4
Remove the chicken breasts and shred them completely with two forks. Return the shredded chicken to the crockpot.
Step 5
Add in the egg noodles and stir until they are completely coated in the soup.
Step 6
Cover and cook for an additional 30 – 45 minutes, or until the noodles are tender.
Step 7
Give everything one final stir, let it cool for a few minutes, serve and enjoy!
Tips
- Gluten-free? Substitute gluten-free egg tagliatelle or your favorite noodle and use gluten-free cream of chicken soup.
- Adjust the consistency: If the mixture becomes too thick after adding the noodles, stir in a little extra chicken broth until it reaches your desired consistency.
- Serve with a side: I love pairing these creamy chicken noodles with a simple vegetable, like green beans or broccoli, or a slice of warm garlic bread for the ultimate comfort meal.
Storage
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
To reheat, warm on the stovetop or in the microwave, adding a little chicken broth if needed.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use frozen chicken?
For food safety, it’s best to thaw chicken before placing it in the crockpot.
Can I make this gluten-free?
Absolutely! Simply use gluten-free cream of chicken soup and substitute your favorite gluten-free egg noodles or tagliatelle.
As a gluten-intolerant girl myself, it’s important to me that I can still enjoy all of my favorite comfort food recipes without sacrificing flavor. I personally used Campbells gluten-free cream of chicken soup and Jovial gluten-free egg tagliatelle in this recipe, and it turned out just as creamy and delicious. Whether you’re gluten-free by necessity or choice, this recipe is an easy swap that everyone can enjoy.
Can I freeze it?
Yes! This recipe freezes well, but for the best results, freeze the chicken and sauce before adding the noodles.
When you’re ready to enjoy it:
- Thaw the chicken and sauce in the refrigerator overnight.
- Reheat the mixture in your crockpot until it’s hot.
- Add the uncooked egg noodles and cook for 30 – 45 minutes, or until they’re tender.
Pro Tip: It’s important to cook the noodles directly in the sauce rather than freezing them with the dish. As the noodles cook, they’ll absorb much of the liquid, creating the rich, creamy consistency that makes this recipe so delicious.
